General Notice
The City of Statesboro is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
2024 SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received in the office of Darren Prather, Director of
Central Services, 22 W. Grady Street, Statesboro, Georgia, until 4:00 PM (Local Time) November 21,
2024, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Statesboro Municipal Court Room.
Work to be completed under this contract will include:
Work will include cured-in-place pipe lining of approximately 6,500 LF of existing 8-inch and 12-inch
gravity sewer lines and cementitious lining of associated manholes located along East Main St., Fair Rd.,
and Northside Dr. in Statesboro, GA. The scope of work will also include traffic control measures, and all
additional work required to complete the project as described in the plans and specifications.
The project duration will be 240 days.
Obtaining the Bidding Documents
Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at Hussey Gay Bell, 329 Commercial
Drive, Savannah, GA 31406, on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.
local time and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents as described below. Partial sets of Bidding
Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible
for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than
the Issuing Office.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained by contacting gkimbrell@husseygaybell.com
and paying a deposit of $150.00 for each set. Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to
Hussey Gay Bell & DeYoung, Inc of Georgia.
Bidding Documents may be purchased from Hussey Gay Bell during the hours indicated above. Cost does
not include shipping charges. Upon receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the
prospective Bidder’s delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method
chosen. Bidding Documents are available for purchase in the following formats:

The City of Statesboro is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

Quail Run Sewer System

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received in the office of Darren Prather, Director of Central Services, 22 W. Grady Street, Statesboro, Georgia, until 3:00 PM (Local Time) November 21, 2024, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Statesboro Municipal Court Room.

The Project includes the following Work:

Installation of approximately 2,550  LF of 8-inch gravity sewers, construction of precast concrete manholes, installation of 4-inch PVC lateral services with connections,  demolition of existing septic tanks, connection to existing gravity sewer system, installation of grinder pump systems with associated 2-inch low pressure force mains, remove and replace pavements, asphaltic concrete overlay, installation and removal of erosion and sediment controls, grading and other miscellaneous items necessary for completion of work as described in the contract plans and documents.

The Project has an expected duration of 180 days.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The City of Statesboro is seeking general contractors for the reconstruction of four (4) homes funded under the City’s Housing Rehabilitation Program. The bidder must be licensed as a Georgia General Contractor if the individual unit bid is greater than $2,500. Contracts will be awarded based on a competitive bidding process.

A non-mandatory contractors’ meeting will be held at 12pm EDT on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Statesboro Municipal Court Building, 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA. A copy of the bid package may be obtained at the contractors’ meeting or by emailing bids@insight-pd.com. There is no charge for receiving bid packages. Bids will be due by 3pm EDT on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and opened and read promptly thereafter, at the Statesboro Municipal Court Building, 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA.
