In late 2023, The City of Statesboro and Bulloch County Board of Commissioners set out to update their Long Range Transportation Plan. Updating the Long Range Transportation Plan helps the city and county identify problem areas in existing traffic plans and prioritize future transportation infrastructure projects. The City and County contracted Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), a national planning and engineering firm, to conduct research and compile the Long Range Transportation Plan, which will serve as a blueprint for future transportation projects and expected population growth in Bulloch County over the next 20 years.
Over the course of the past year, multiple public input meetings were held to understand what transportation updates were a priority for residents. GMC and the partner agencies worked together to create the 2024 Long Range Transportation Plan. Below, you will find an executive summary of the plan as well as the whole, 108-page document.
