Statesboro Village Builders Initiative is a new initiative conceived by the City of Statesboro’s Youth Commission and Mayor McCollar in collaboration with community stakeholders. The Statesboro Village Builders aims to be a community-wide youth development program that offers a comprehensive approach to ensure that all youth in Statesboro and their families have support in becoming the best version of themselves.
A key approach of the program will be a youth mentorship program, which we anticipate launching in early 2023. Goals of the Statesboro Village Builders Initiative include workforce development, youth civic engagement, early childhood literacy, as well as a range of goals that support successful life outcomes for all Statesboro youth.
ABOUT THE VILLAGES
The Sta
tesboro Village Builders Initiative will initially focus on connecting five identified areas in the City, or “villages”, with resources to improve food security, literacy, healthcare access, and access to clothing through Mobile Resource Days. We will work with community members in each village to identify additional resources that can best support their families and collaborate with community partners to make these resources available.
